UK self storage price index
The UK average is £2.74 per square foot a month including VAT (£68.50 for a typical 25 sq ft unit), from the SSA UK Annual Industry Report 2026. From October 2026 the index adds our own standard prices, checked monthly on each store's website, published free as CSV.

The index is published openly under CC BY 4.0: cite "Storage Index" with a link. Store locations in the CSV derive from Overture Maps data under CDLA Permissive 2.0.

How we check data
Store locations come from Overture Maps and are refreshed quarterly. Standard prices for each unit size get checked monthly against each store's own website, including VAT, and every price carries its checked date. Full methodology
